The application period for the competition LABJOVEM - Young Creators of the Azores will be extended until November 23, announced the Regional Directorate for Youth today.
Youngsters up to 35 years old will now have another month to submit their projects in the areas of architecture, performing arts, fine arts, fashion design, graphic design, photography, illustration and comics, literature, video and music.
The projects selected in this competition will be presented in the Azores under the Regional Exhibition to be held in 2014.
In addition to the training grant awarded to the winners in all areas in competition, the selected youngsters will have the opportunity of showcasing their works in Lisbon as the LABJOVEM Exhibition will be also featured at the LX Factory.
Applicants from each area will be evaluated by a jury consisting of three persons of good repute. Whenever possible the jury is composed of a personality of recognised merit at a regional level, a person of recognised merit at a national and/or international level and an emerging youngster in the regional context.
The judging panel of this 4th edition includes several personalities from different areas: Miguel Vieira, João Costa Ribeiro, Martim Pedroso, Rita Carmo, Frankie Chávez, Pedro Falcão, Rui Zink, Miguel Valverde, Susana Antão and Sandra Jurgens.

LABJOVEM Competition is a project promoted by the Government, through the Regional Directorate for Youth, and organised by the Burra de Milho Cultural Association. This initiative aims to encourage and promote young creators from different artistic fields, serving as a platform to a whole new generation of Azorean artists.
