The Regional Directorate for Youth promotes a Bootcamp on Social Entrepreneurship to be held at the Ponta Delgada Youth Hostel from March 6 to 8.
Bootcamp is an innovative educational model that provides participants with the opportunity of developing the concept of a new initiative on Social Entrepreneurship in teamwork for 48 hours in a focused and dynamic environment.
Organised by the Association for the Promotion of Youngsters at Risk and Social Entrepreneurship Institute, this training course aims to foster the development of projects on social entrepreneurship as well as to provide association representatives and youth animators with the tools that may support the implementation of projects in this area.
36 participants from seven islands will take part in this event, including representatives of youth associations, teachers and representatives of Private Social Solidarity Institutions. This initiative will promote among participants a social entrepreneurship attitude and the tools to boost the social impact of their projects.
This training course is also intended to promote voluntary participation and co-responsibility of social entrepreneurs as well as the search for new answers through creativity and innovation in order to identify potentialities and resources in the creation of innovative solutions.
Participants in this Bootcamp will have to create a social entrepreneurship project that will be analysed on the last day of the training course by a jury composed of the Regional Director for Youth, Pilar Damião, the Regional Director for Social Solidarity, Natércia Gaspar, and the Regional Director for Support to Investment and Competitiveness, Ricardo Medeiros.
The President of the Administration Board of the Society for the Business Development of the Azores (SDEA), Arnaldo Machado, will also be part of the jury that will be in charge of assessing and selecting the best projects and choosing the winner.
