The Regional Director for Youth stated that young Azoreans "should have the courage to undertake", stressing that knowing other realities "facilitates this process."
"We are working towards this goal in an initial stage that involves about 30 regional schools in the Ideaçores competition and now, in a second phase, providing the winning teams with the possibility to discover new realities and to expand horizons," stressed Lúcio Rodrigues.
In this regard, he pointed out that these young Azoreans are meeting in Lisbon this week "in a mission of entrepreneurship that aims to explore the city's entrepreneurial ecosystem, develop the network of contacts of young people and provide the sharing of experiences."
The IdeiAçores competition will be carried out under the "Entrepreneurial Education: the Path to Success" programme, an initiative developed by the Government of the Azores, through the regional Directorates for Youth and Education, in partnership with Geslearning.
This edition distinguished the team from Lajes do Pico Basic Education and Secondary School for the "Costa & Costa Batatas" project, the team from São Francisco Xavier School for the "Cheese Box" project and the team from Capelas Vocational Training School for the "Hydroponic Fodder" project.
The regional IdeiAçores competition involved the participation of about one hundred students from 29 schools in the archipelago, marking the culmination of a project developed throughout the year in regional schools.
The "Entrepreneurial Education: the path to success" aims, among other goals, to encourage the adoption of a spirit of initiative and dynamism through a different approach from that of traditional education.
