"Entrepreneurial Education: The Way to Success" project involved more than 2,000 young people and 41 schools in the Azores this year
The "Entrepreneurial Education: The Way to Success" project, an initiative developed by the Regional Government, reached this year more than two thousand young Azoreans, 66 teachers and 41 schools, involving students from middle school to secondary school as well as vocational training schools.
The Regional Assistant Secretary of the Presidency for Parliamentary Affairs stressed that, “even in the face of the constraints we are facing due to the pandemic, the project continued, with young people and teachers working on their projects during the school phase.”
“Even with the pandemic, after all the work carried out, we had to prepare the final phase of this project and we were pleased to note that both teachers and students have responded to this challenge. This year, the IDEIAÇORES Regional Competition will be held online format on June 17," announced Berto Messias.
After the registration of teams composed of young people who participated in the "Entrepreneurial Education" project this school year, the Evaluation Committee has already selected the 24 best projects and the evaluation of the 24 "Video-Pitch" submitted is currently under way. The winners and the respective prizes will be announced in the online final.
Berto Messias considered that the "Entrepreneurial Education" and the "IdeiaAçores Competition" are “clearly demonstrate that we have a young and innovative Region with great confidence in the future.” As he noted, it even “gains a new dimension if we consider that, even in the face of a pandemic that forced us into social isolation, leading us to rethink our daily methodologies, students and teachers have decided to continue embracing this initiative."
The Regional Secretary stressed that the idea "is not to train entrepreneurs," but "to stimulate the proactivity of young Azoreans towards their community, because only then will they be better prepared for the challenges of the future."
“Therefore, we invite everyone to attend the presentations of the winning projects on June 17. It will be an opportunity prove that we have a new generation of young Azoreans with great dynamic, with extraordinary ideas and with a great desire to contribute to the future of the Azores,” said Berto Messias.
The final session of the IdeiAçores Competition will be broadcast live on the Facebook page of the Regional Directorate for Youth at https://www.facebook.com/DRJuventude.
