The Regional Assistant Secretary of the Presidency for Parliamentary Affairs presented in Praia da Vitória the "Training Plan of the Youth Academy," which is focused on three areas.
"This year, we started a series of training sessions in several areas. This first package comprises three areas of training: communication, event organisation and digital marketing," said Berto Messias.
The government official spoke to young people, stressing that this training plan was developed by the Regional Directorate for Youth. It counts on the partnership of Terceira Academy of Youth and Arts and Teatro Micaelense.
Berto Messias stressed that the plan "connects the three strategic lines of action for regional youth policies defined at the beginning of the legislative term," namely "the increase of employability, qualifications and civic participation of young people."
"This training plan represents the beginning of a cycle of training that should be an added value and a complement to the academic and professional training of our young people. Moreover, it should also increase employability and support people who are already working or managing businesses so that they may increase and improve their skills," said the government official.
"These three areas of training make up the first training cycle, but in the future we will define new areas based on the ideas and contributions of young people. Therefore, it is important that young people, through social networks and the Regional Directorate for Youth page, tell us which training they want in the future," added the Regional Secretary.
In this context, Berto Messias urged young Azoreans to inform themselves, register and tell the Regional Directorate for Youth about the areas in which they would like to receive training. As he informed, "new training courses will open once the minimum number of pre-registered participants is reached."
This first cycle of training will take place during the months of May and June at the Terceira Academy of Youth and Arts in Praia da Vitória and at Teatro Micaelense in Ponta Delgada. In this regard, Berto Messias added that the Regional Government "intends to extend this model to all islands."
