Regional Government promotes transnational training course on youth entrepreneurship, announced Berto Messias
The Government of the Azores, through the Regional Directorate for Youth, will hold a training course under the transnational project designated as "Entrepreneurship Education: A Road of Success" at NONAGON - S. Miguel Science and Technology Park in Lagoa between March 6 and 8.
"This training course is one of the transnational phases of the Entrepreneurial Education project," announced the Regional Assistant Secretary of the Presidency for Parliamentary Affairs. According to him, it will involve the participation of "17 professionals in the area of education, who will be responsible for the management and implementation of educational entrepreneurship programmes."
This initiative will also count on the contribution of Chris Curtis, an Education for Entrepreneurship trainer based in Canada.
For three days, participants will receive information about the "Learning by Doing “methodology as well as to explore strategies and resources for entrepreneurship in the classroom.
The Regional Assistant Secretary, who oversees the area of Youth, also highlighted the presentation of the online Educational Resources Centre, a platform providing "lessons and activities intended to encourage the participation of young people and help them creating their own business idea."
"After this training, education professionals from several countries will have the opportunity to implement the pilot project with their students for three months as well as to select the team with the best business idea to represent their country in the "International Bootcamp." The latter is scheduled for July and will also take place in the Azores," said Berto Messias.
In view of the implementation and internationalisation of the "Entrepreneurial Education: A Road to Success" programme, running for nine years in Azorean schools, the Regional Directorate for Youth has approved an application for "Erasmus + Youth in Action" programme with partners from Bulgaria, Romania, Spain and Portugal.
The preparatory works for the "International Bootcamp" will begin at this meeting, which will also address aspects concerning the publication of a Handbook on Good Entrepreneurial Practices.
