Regional Director for Communities visits SEF and Embassies of Angola, Brazil and Ukraine
The Regional Director for Communities visited the Immigration and Borders Service (SEF) where she analysed, in conjunction with the National Director of SEF, Manuel Jarmela Palos, the situation of immigrants in the Azores and new forms of institutional cooperation with the Autonomous Region of the Azores.
Graça Castanho, during her visit to Lisbon, also visited the Embassies of Angola, Brazil and Ukraine, where, in addition to exchanging greetings and presenting a brief background of the migration reality in the Azores, reiterated the interest in strengthening relations between the Government of the Azores, through the Regional Directorate for Communities (DRC) and these Embassies with the purpose of achieving a greater integration and, therefore, the improvement of the quality of life of the immigrants from these countries.
At the meeting held with the Embassies of Brazil, Angola and Ukraine, the Regional Director for Communities invited the diplomatic officials to visit the Azores and offered the services of the DRC in Ponta Delgada, Angra do Heroísmo and Horta not only for the organisation of meetings with their communities, but also for consular acts.
