Regional Director for Communities participates in delivery ceremony of International Portuguese Music Awards in the USA
The Regional Director for Communities will travel Friday and Saturday to the United States to will attend the delivery ceremony of the International Portuguese Music Awards (IPMA), where he will deliver the "Special Achievement Award." This initiative has the support of the Regional Government.
The event, with worldwide broadcast, features the performances of several artists, including Daniela Mercury, Olavo Bilac or São Miguel-born singer, Mariana Rocha.
On Friday, April 21, Paulo Teves participates in the IPMA Gala to take place in the city of Fall River and, on the following day, he will attend the prize-delivery ceremony of IPMA, which will distinguish the winners of the different categories.
IPMA is an initiative developed by a group of emigrants; two of whom from the Azores. It aims to recognise the work and success of international artists of Portuguese descent in the music world.
This ceremony, held annually since 2013, is the only international festival of Portuguese music for Portuguese descendants in the world. It features several award categories that will be delivered by a jury of experts from the music industry, including Music Video Musical of the Year, Instrumental, World Music, Traditional, “Fado,” Dance, Rap/Hip-Hop, Rock, Pop, Popular Music, New Talent and Song of the Year; there are 46 nominations from eight countries.
