The Government of the Azores promotes a Training Course for Diaspora Youth targeted to young Azoreans and young people of Azorean descent residing in the United States of America to be held on the island of São Miguel on July 10-16.
Participation in this Training Course is limited to eight vacancies. Those who are interested should make their registration with the Regional Directorate for Communities until April 30.
The initiative aims to encourage the relations between young people of the Diaspora and those living in the Azores, bringing young people of Azorean descent closer to the Region and strengthening the role of young people in the preservation of Azorean identity in host countries. It also highlights the importance of young people belonging to institutions in the Azorean Diaspora and their governing bodies.
This course also aims to provide participants with skills and training and information tools they need to promote and disseminate the Azores of today and their investment opportunities.
In this context, there are scheduled working sessions in class context that will address topics such as tourism and the sea, investment opportunities, regional environmental and youth policies, history, culture and external relations in the Region. Moreover, the initiative also includes visits to various institutions and companies.
This action, promoted by the Cabinet of the Regional Assistant Secretary of the Presidency for External Relations, through the Regional Directorate for Communities, falls within the Regional Government's policy to bring young Azoreans and young people of Azorean descent closer to the Region. They will become better acquainted with the potential and added value of the archipelago and encourage their involvement in the institutions of the Azorean Diaspora.
