The Regional Department for the Communities signed several Cultural Protocols with diverse public and private entities. These protocols aim the rescue and maintenance of Azorean culture, the cultural interchange in the communities and the Azores, as well as the preservation of Portuguese language.
The protocols were celebrated between the Regional Department for the Communities and the following entities:
- Vasco da Gama Club, Bermuda, on April 15, 2004;
- Regional Department for Culture, on April 10, 2003;
- NEA - Azorean Studies Department at the Federal University of Santa Catarina, Florianopolis, Santa Catarina, Brazil;
- Regional Department for Culture, on November 15, 2000;
- Franklin Cascaes Foundation, Florianopolis, Santa Catarina, Brazil, on May 5, 1999;
- Portuguese Cultural Centre, Mississauga, on September, 2004.
