Eduíno de Jesus was born in Arrifes, S. Miguel, Açores. He did his studies at the University of Lisbon and has taught at Universidade Nova, also in Lisbon. A superb literary critic, he has also published essays, several books of poetry, and plays. He is the cultural attaché for the Casa dos Açores in Lisbon, entity responsible for promoting Azorean culture in the Portuguese capital. He makes his home in Lisbon.
