The Regional Department for the Communities supported the organization of the 11th Meeting of the Portuguese Language Teachers in the United States and Canada, which took place between July 4 and 7, in Angra do Heroísmo, Terceira Island, and was attended by 130 teachers of Portuguese Language and Culture from those countries.
This annual event has the following objectives:
· Divulge and preserve the teaching of Portuguese language, both in the United States and Canada, thus being a space where the experiences of the teachers from different schools and different school systems are shared with the articulation of the several teaching methods and politics;
· Discuss the definition of the methods and ways of action in this area.
Simultaneously, a meeting with 30 young Portuguese descendants took place, with the support of the Regional Department for the Communities and the Regional Department for Youth, Employment and Professional Development.
