“Emanuel Félix” Program aims at supporting the translation into English of literary works of Azorean authors, regarded as of relevance to the knowledge of the sociocultural Azorean heritage, in order to be published in Bermuda, Canada and the United States of America.
The program, whose objectives are to prize Azorean authors, to promulgate the Autonomous Region of the Azores, to promote the Azoreanity, to preserve the Azorean cultural identity and to disseminate the Azorean people’s sociocultural features to the societies where it settled, is directed to publishers from Bermuda, Canada and the United States of America, and to translators.
Those interested may formally apply from 6th July to 30th September, 2015, through form available here.
Emanuel Félix, a poet, an essayist and a short-story and chronicle writer from Terceira, an artist of fine sensibility and literary contour, had a relevant role of undeniable interest to the enrichment of the literary production of Azorean origin, being, therefore, regarded as a reference by the communities of the Azorean diaspora.
“Emanuel Félix” Program is an identity affirmation of the Azorean family scattered around the world and the just recognition of their writers’ value.
