Azores participate in international conference organised by the Assembly of European Regions and the R20 Network
The Under Secretary for European Affairs and External Cooperation will participate, on behalf of the President of the Government, in the International Conference "The Regions in the path towards Green Economy”. Organised by the Assembly of European Regions and the R20 Network - Regions of Climate Action, the event will take place on March 7.
Rodrigo Oliveira will speak at the first panel of the Conference which will discuss theme of climate change. The Presidents of the Eastern regions of Morocco, Puglia, Italy, Senegal and Pastaza, and Ecuador are among the speakers at this event to be held at International Conference Centre in Geneva, Switzerland.
Furthermore, the Under Secretary for European Affairs and External Cooperation will participate in the Conference on "Green Economy and Climate Change," organised by the R20 Network World Meteorological Organization (WMO) to take place at the University of Geneva on the afternoon of March 7. This conference brings together several hundreds of participants, including scholars and politicians from several continents.
On March 8, the Under Secretary will also take part in the General Assembly of the Network "R20 - Regions of Climate Action," a global body that brings together regions, provinces and the federal states of North America and South America, Africa, Asia and Europe; it was founded in 2010 and the Autonomous Region of the Azores is one of its founding members.
