On March 19, the Regional Government holds the colloquium on "Education for European Citizenship" in Ponta Delgada, which aims to contribute to the training of educational agents in European issues.
At the opening of the colloquium, scheduled for 10 AM at the Public Library, the Regional Assistant Secretaries of the Presidency for External Relations, Rui Bettencourt, and Parliamentary Affairs, Berto Messias, will present the activities to be carried out in 2019 under the "European Citizenship - Europe for Azoreans," an initiative directed to young people.
The programme also includes the presentation of the papers on "European Union - a project for all of us. Educational Projects and Actions" by Elvira Ventura and Sandra Pereira (Jacques Delors European Information Centre) and "European Citizenship in the National Network of European Clubs" by Madalena Calado (Directorate-General for Education and National Coordinator of European Clubs)
Promoted by the Government of the Azores, this initiative is aimed at teachers, educators, socio-cultural animators and professionals working in educational and cultural areas. It is also open to the public in general.
Admission is free, but, given the limited number of seats, those interested in participation should register by March 18 at the email [email protected].
The organisation of this colloquium also marks the beginning of a cycle of educational and training activities for secondary school students developed in partnership with the Jacques Delors Information Centre.
Actions under the theme "European Citizenship and EU Opportunities for Young People" will run until March 22 at all secondary schools on the island of São Miguel.
