The Governments of the Azores and Madeira will sign Monday ten cooperation agreements whose implementation will be awarded priority status by both Governments," announced the Regional Under Secretary of the Presidency for External Relations.
 
Rodrigo Oliveira spoke to journalists after a meeting between the delegation of the Government of Madeira and the Government of the Azores, held in Furnas, in the context of the visit of the President of the Government of Madeira, Miguel Albuquerque, to the Azores at the invitation of Vasco Cordeiro.
 
According to Rodrigo Oliveira, these cooperation protocols cover several areas, including Handicrafts, Health and Civil Protection, Culture, Construction, Fisheries and Aquaculture, Viticulture, Forest Resources, Environment, Youth and European Affairs.
 
"These protocols already encompass their principles and fundamental rules and their implementation will be awarded priority status, thus embodying the technical cooperation and the spirit of cooperation and reconciliation that underpins this visit," said the Regional Under Secretary of the Presidency for External Relations.
 
The working meeting between both Governments was one of the scheduled events for the second day of Miguel Albuquerque's visit to the Azores at the invitation made by President of the Azorean Government last August. The visit takes places until Tuesday and includes the islands of São Miguel, Pico, Faial and Terceira.
