The Regional Government, through the Regional Assistant Secretary of the Presidency for External Relations, has been in contact since Sunday, March 22, with a group of 15 Azoreans held at the Nice Airport in France by notification from the Australian Health services over quarantine requirement.
In order to better combine the different solutions for a quick return to Portugal, the Regional Government maintains a permanent contact with the Consular Emergency Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Currently, all air and land solutions between Nice and Portugal are under consideration.
The group of Azoreans ravelled to France in transit coming from Australia, where they were on a cruise.
The Regional Government's assistance to this group of Azoreans is being carried out in compliance with the rules and procedures determined by the national and regional health authorities.
