Regional Government participates in the 103rd Plenary meeting of the Committee of the Regions and in Open Days
The Regional Under Secretary of the Presidency for External Relations, Rodrigo Oliveira, participate on behalf of the Azorean Government in the 103rd plenary meeting of the Committee of Regions as well as in the 11th European Week of Regions and Cities - Open Days, which are taking place in Brussels this week.
In this edition of Open Days, the biggest EU event on regional policy, the Government of the Azores takes part in the partnership "Blue Biotechnology Regions of Europe" with the regions of Brittany and Pays de la Loire (France), Asturias (Spain), Vastra Gotaland (Sweden) and Wales (UK).
This working group promotes the seminar on "Blue Biotechnology at the service of regional growth" on October 8 at 2:30 PM. The featured speaker will be the Regional Director for Sea Affairs, Filipe Porteiro.
The Azores will be also represented in the "100 EUrban solutions" exhibition. The expansion project of the Graciosa Museum was the selected project for this exhibition.
The exhibition will be open to the public in Brussels until the end of October. This event is intended to present the best practices in different areas of urban and regional development in the European Union, through the projects co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
The 2013 edition of the European Week of Regions and Cities, held under the theme "Europe's Regions and Cities taking off for 2020," involves 200 European regions and cities and a total of 6,000 participants, including political representatives, senior officials and experts on various areas of EU regional policy.
