Miguel António Moniz da Costa holds a law degree from the Faculty of Law of the University of Coimbra.
Born on the island of Pico, he currently holds the position of Regional Director for Infrastructures and Inland Transports of the X Regional Government of the Azores.
He has held the position of island delegate of the Regional Secretariat for Housing and Infrastructures (SRHE) on the island of Pico for six years.
In 2003, he was appointed representative of the SRHE to the Monitoring Commission in charge of drafting the Urbanisation Plan of the town of São Roque do Pico.In the same year, he was also appointed representative to the Joint Coordination Commission of the Management Plan of the Protected Landscape of the Pico Island Vineyard Culture.
In December 2006, he represented the SRHE at the Joint Commission in charge of reviewing the Municipal Plan of São Roque do Pico.
He is the Coordinator of the Monitoring and Coordination Structure of the Toll-free Roads on the island of São Miguel.
In 2008, he represented the SRCTE (Regional Secretariat for Science, Technology and Infrastructures) at the Technical Planning Commission of the DREPA – VPGR.
In December 2008, by order of the SRCTE, he was appointed representative of the Azores to the Advisory Council of Public Works, Transport and Communications of the Ministry of Public Works, Transport and Communications.
