The Regional Secretariat for the Economy (SRE) is the government department which supervises commerce, industry, energy, air and maritime transport, tourism and support for economic cohesion and business development in the region. It also supervises the Regional Inspectorate of Economic Activities and the Regional Centre for Handicrafts.

The SRE essentially intends, through this government portal, to publicise itself and reinforce potential links between citizens and the different organisations for which it is responsible. We therefore provide an introduction here to the Regional Directorates in terms of their areas of responsibility and intervention, in addition to a wide range of useful information, particularly on various incentives schemes, which is likely to be of interest to anyone investing in the Azores.
