Golf brings over 250 participants to the Region in November with the support of the Azorean Government
The Government of the Azores will support, through the Regional Secretariat for the Economy, the organisation of three golf tournaments in November and early December. These events will bring to the Region more than 250 participants as well several media bodies specialised in this sport.
The first of these tournaments, the National Final of Expresso BPI Golf Cup, will take place on the golf course of Terceira Island from November 18 to 21. This is the most important sports event dedicated to companies at a national level, counting on the participation of 21 teams and a total of 84 players.
In addition to this event, there will also be a tournament for solidarity purposes, which will be attended by 100 VIP guests.
This initiative, known as SIC Esperança Trophy, and the tournament dedicated to companies will be covered by the special sections of Expresso newspaper and SIC Notícias channel (news channel).
In the end of November, São Miguel will host Açores Ladies Open. This will be the first Portuguese competition to join the LET Access Series, the official feeder tour to the European Ladies Tour. This tournament will take place at the Batalha Golf Course between November 30 and December 4.
The event's organisation estimates the participation of 80 female golfers. Moreover, there will be an edition exclusively dedicated to the Azores on the TV programme Golf Report broadcast by SIC Notícias as well as other special media coverage.
