The Government of the Azores “carefully monitors to the path followed by regional companies, being aware that only the work done by everyone, from shareholders to managers and workers, will overcome the challenges we face at present moment,” defended the Regional Secretary of Economy in Ponta Delgada on Thursday.
Vasco Cordeiro spoke, on behalf of the President of the Government, at the dinner to celebrate the 145th anniversary of the Fábrica de Tabaco Micaelense (tobacco factory) and highlighted the “importance” of the set of mechanisms made available to companies, defending that “one should not be tempted to reduce these support measures to a project level, but as fundamental tools for strengthening companies, particularly in the creation of stable jobs, which is of great importance at the present moment.”
“The future is built on this partnership: the entrepreneurial skill and spirit, but also on the contribution provided by each individual at different levels; therefore, everyone will be contributing to the success of a company,” stated the Regional Secretary.
Furthermore, Vasco Cordeiro stressed that moments such as the celebration of the145th anniversary of a company is “a reason for joy” and an opportunity “to reflect not only on what has been achieved, but also on those who have contributed to these achievements at different levels, creating a company that faces the future with confidence.”
The Regional Secretary for the Economy also ensured the Azorean Government will continue its “monitoring action, taking into account the needs, concerns and goals of each regional company in order to overcome the challenges brought by the current context.”
