The analysis of issues related to local companies was the main goal of two meetings held today between the Regional Secretary for the Economy, the board of Flores and Corvo business centre and the businesspeople from Flores tourism sector.
During the meeting, Luísa Schanderl conveyed the Government's willingness to collaborate with businesspeople in order to search for the best solutions that may help them to overcome the current challenges. The creation of solutions is of particular importance for businesspeople operating on smaller islands.
According to Luísa Schanderl, this meeting was very useful "to identify challenges and exchange some ideas about the improvements deemed necessary for certain matters. The reinforcement of training courses in the hotel and restaurant areas was some one of the topics under discussion at these meetings."
For the Regional Secretary for the Economy, "the Azorean Government has been working to ensure the creation of the necessary conditions to foster the development and success of our islands in key areas.
This effort is evidenced by a faster analysis of the applications submitted for the incentive schemes and the respective payments. With these measures, regional businesspeople will have more reasons to trust the system." This speed "is a very important aspect in business activity," concluded the Regional Secretary.
