Following several interventions carried out by the Regional Secretariat for the Economy, two pedestrian trails located the island of Flores, which were closed due to the bad weather that has hit the archipelago over the past weeks, were reopened on Sunday.
The Lajedo-Fajã Grande and the Poça do Bacalhau trails had been close due to the instability of some slopes and, consequently, their safety conditions were not ensured.
According to Miguel Cymbron, Regional Director for Tourism, “the operations undertaken on the site guarantee the safety of those who wish to use the trail.”
With regard to the four pedestrian trails on the island of Flores, “two remain closed and are currently being subject to intervention works in order to re-establish the necessary conditions for their reopening,” stated the Regional Director.
