Government acknowledges importance of Environmental Certification awarded to INSCO stores
The Regional Director for the Environment, João Bettencourt, attended the awarding ceremony of the Environmental Certification to the INSCO stores in Lagoa and Ribeira Grande that took place today.
At the occasion, João Bettencourt conveyed the Regional Government's recognition of another certification that symbolises the commitment to integrating environmental concerns into the company's economic and social development, which contributes to the sustainable development of the Azores.
This is a complex process that requires constant and systematic work covering several environmental areas, mainly energy consumption, waste management, air emissions, waste consumption and quality, and noise.
"INSCO has met all these requirements, offering a quality product that complies with all legal environmental requirements. Being worthy of this award, the company is an example to follow for other competitors in the market," said the Regional Director.
The awarding of an Environmental Certification ensures a series of advantages for companies, including the rational use of energy and resources with a consequent reduction of costs in the long-term. Apart from these aspects, the certification also allows the reduction of waste and its subsequent recovery, the improvement of the company's image as well as an increase in its competitiveness and productivity.
