Regional Government creates new services and infrastructures at Sete Cidades Camping Park
The Regional Director for the Environment spoke today at the presentation of draft project for the redevelopment of Sete Cidades Camping Park, revealing that this infrastructure will also include a space for caravans as well as one-bedroom and two-bedroom accommodation units.
"The draft project includes a comprehensive intervention in the Camping Park. The aim is to improve this infrastructure with the construction of a service building as well as the redefinition of the areas for tents, with a minimum capacity of 70 tents, the remodelling of meal and sanitary areas, which will now be distributed across the park, and the construction of a parking area for up to six caravans," announced Hernâni Jorge.
The Regional Secretariat for Agriculture and the Environment will launch until September a public tender for the concession of the Camping Park that will cover its construction and operation/management in accordance with the provisions of the draft project.
In this context, the draft project proposal provides the concessionaire with the possibility to expand the services building. The project also includes the construction of a maximum of 12 bungalows, six one-bedroom units and another six two-bedroom units, thus diversifying the existing offer in this area.
"This decision opens a business opportunity for local entrepreneurs who will be able to create more jobs and improve the tourism offer of Sete Cidades," Hernâni Jorge said, noting that the intervention carried out in recent months, in partnership with the Village Council, already provides the appropriate conditions to campers during this high season.
