The Regional Secretariat for Energy, Environment and Tourism, through the Regional Directorate for Energy, promotes the 3rd Meeting with Energy Efficiency in Ponta Delgada on January 22.
This third session will focus on incentive systems and will take place at the Regional Civil Engineering Laboratory. It features a panel of speakers who will address the incentive systems available at national and regional level to promote energy efficiency in various activity sectors.
The financing opportunities for the promotion of energy efficiency will be presented by Fernando Martins, Exclusive Director of the National Action Plan for Energy Efficiency, while Sebastião Carneiro, a member of the Executive Committee of the Innovation Support Fund, will address the support lines provided under FAI - Innovation Support Fund for the Autonomous Region of the Azores.
The President of the Society for Business Development of the Azores (SDEA), Arnaldo Machado, will focus on the support to energy efficiency under IFRRU 2020 (Financial Tool for Urban Rehabilitation and Revitalisation) and Competir+. In turn, Adriana Moniz, a member of the Regional Directorate for Energy, will talk about ProEnergia programme, an incentive scheme for energy production from renewable sources.
In addition to raising awareness for the best practices in energy efficiency, both from a theoretical and a practical perspective, through the sharing of knowledge by specialised technicians, this meeting aims to implement a low-carbon policy in the Azores with the dissemination of several incentive schemes.
The organisation of this session marks the continuity of a series of initiatives that have been promoted throughout 2017. They intended to highlight the importance of energy efficiency among various sectors, thus contributing to an energy efficient and sustainable Region.
The Regional Secretariat for Energy, Environment and Tourism, through the Regional Directorate for Energy, has already promoted Energy Efficiency Meetings dedicated to the sectors of industry, agriculture, forestry and fisheries as well as to public buildings. The next sessions will address themes such as energy communities, electric mobility and public lighting, among others.
