Private Social Solidarity Institutions of the Azores may apply for Integrated Energy Efficiency Programme until March 31
The Regional Secretary for Energy, Environment and Tourism, through the Regional Directorate for Energy, in collaboration with the Regional Secretariat for Social Solidarity has joined the PIEE IPSS project - Integrated Energy Efficiency Programme for Private Social Solidarity Institutions.
Private Social Solidarity Institutions (IPSS) of the Azores may apply for this project until March 31. The initiative is promoted by RNAE - Association of Energy and Environment Agencies (National Network).
This programme aims to raise the awareness of IPSS workers for the importance of energy efficiency, namely through the creation of a network of Internal Energy Coordinators (CIE) and the provision of training in a series of free workshops.
The PIEE IPSS project also comprises technical interventions in Private Social Solidarity Institutions, through the conduction of energy diagnostics and advice on eventual applications for European and national funds.
The institutions that present the best feasible project and methodology for the implementation of specific technical energy efficiency measures will be awarded at the final stage of this programme.
For Private Social Solidarity Institutions, this programme has the potential to reduce the electricity bill, while minimising the environmental impacts with the implementation of the best energy efficiency practices.
Hence, the PIEE IPSS project is an important tool to enhance energy efficiency in the Azores as well as to pursue decarbonisation and sustainable development goals, which will have a positive impact on improving the archipelago's environmental quality goals.
The Regional Directorate for Energy is available to provide support or clarify any questions related to the programme.
