The Regional Secretariat for Energy, Environment and Tourism, through the Regional Directorate for Energy, is creating Handbooks on Energy Efficiency dedicated to various sectors.
The first handbook, prepared in partnership with the Institute for Systems Engineering and Computers at Coimbra (INESC Coimbra), is directed to the agroindustrial sector. It is part of a series of five handbooks that will be made available soon on the Energy Portal with the purpose of informing and raising the awareness of those responsible for the energy management of several sectors in the Azores.
This first handbook was presented Friday at the online session of "Meetings with Energy Efficiency - Incentives and Measures for Companies," an initiative promoted by the Regional Government to mark the World Energy Day.
The session, attended by several Azorean citizens and entities, had the purpose of helping companies to increase their energy efficiency with the contribution of INESC Coimbra and the Regional Directorate for Planning and Structural Funds.
This meeting addressed the main measures aimed at enhancing energy efficiency in a productive context as well as the various mechanisms and incentive systems available in this area at regional level, including Proenergia, the support for the purchase of electric vehicles and the incentives for the increase of energy efficiency in companies.
Also, to mark World Energy Day, this Regional Directorate for Energy held an online session of "Meetings with Energy Efficiency in Schools."
These sessions aimed at junior high school and secondary school students have been providing them with essential tools to combat the effects of climate change, through energy.
In order to reach as many young people as possible, the Regional Directorate for Energy, with the support of the Regional Directorate for Education, urged teachers to mark this day with their students, using the educational contents available on the Azores Energy Portal.
