Regional Government dedicates first Energy Efficiency Workshop to construction sector
The Regional Secretariat for Energy, Environment and Tourism, through the Regional Directorate for Energy, holds the 1st Workshop on Energy Efficiency that will be dedicated to the theme "Building Solutions: Glazing" on February 25 at the Regional Civil Engineering Laboratory in Ponta Delgada.
The initiative will address the quality of window installation works, ensuring that the installed solutions provide consumers with the expected benefits in terms of improving thermal and acoustic comfort conditions and reducing energy costs by promoting energy efficiency in buildings.
The panel will begin with Nuno Simões, from IteCons - Institute for Research and Technological Development in Construction, Energy, Environment and Sustainability, who will address the theme "Impact of glazed spans on buildings," followed by the theme " Framework and safety systems" to be presented by Artur Mexia, from ANFAJE - National Association of Efficient Windows Manufacturers.
In turn, João Daniel, from Saint-Gobain, will speak on "Thermal insulation and solar control: double glazing solutions" and Paulo Santos, from ADENE - Portuguese Energy Agency, will address the theme "Efficiency, value and distinction in efficient windows bearing CLASS + energy label."
These workshops aimed at technical staff from various areas follow the Meetings with Energy Efficiency that have been held in the Region with the purpose of promoting and fostering a low carbon economy through awareness raising, debate and dissemination of the best energy efficiency practices in the Azores.
The workshop will be broadcast live to all islands and allow participants to interact with the panel upon previous registration, which should be made at https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdWagviR3y3rBq-sa26D8MxVHUNGSm0CPfEuwQ7s85EWC2ejA/viewform.
