The Regional Secretariat for Energy, Environment and Tourism, through the Regional Directorate for Energy, promotes training courses on energy efficiency for Village Council on the islands of Terceira and Pico next Monday, February 18.
These training sessions will take place at Angra do Heroísmo Cultural and Congress Centre and at Madalena Basic Education and Secondary School; admission is free.
The initiative is organised in partnership with RNAE - Association of Energy and Environment Agencies, being part of the "+ Efficient Villages." It intends to provide Village Councils with energy principals to be applied in their facilities so that they may improve their performance in this area.
Besides the organisation of training courses throughout all regions of the country, this is a multipurpose programme that will grant access to an online energy management platform for all Village Councils.
The project also includes a contest aimed at distinguishing Village Councils that achieve the greatest reduction in energy consumption, thus serving as an example to be disseminated nationwide.
For Village Councils, the participation in this project is an opportunity to reduce their energy bill and contribute to the mitigation of environmental impacts, while implementing the best energy efficiency practices with positive repercussions throughout the Region.
