The Regional Director for Tourism stated in Horta that initiatives such as the workshop entitled "How to better manage the price of my hotel: the importance of variables in determining the sale price" provide a significant contribution to the sustainable development of tourism in the Azores. The intervention should be focused on strengthening commercial and management skills of agents in the sector.
Filipe Macedo spoke at the closing session of the workshop organised by Tourism of Portugal in partnership with the Regional Secretariat for Energy, Environment and Tourism. He stressed that the sustainable growth of tourism in the Azores should "be based on three fundamental pillars - the human factor, the environmental factor and the economic factor.”
This specific action has allowed a specialised intervention with the human capital that makes the tourism industry a repertoire of experiences, experiences and emotions on a daily basis.
For the Regional Director, "such initiatives aim to provide human resources in this sector with tools that will allow them to optimise their business, through a process of sharing and transfer of knowledge."
This workshop aimed to bring tourism companies to the real market, raising their awareness for the need and importance of adapting prices to market conditions, the volatility of its main determinants and the various sales channels used to maximise revenue.
The initiative took place on the islands of Terceira, São Miguel and Faial, registering a total of 110 participants.
