The Regional Secretariat for Energy, Environment and Tourism, through the Regional Directorate for Tourism, informs that registrations are open for the "Clean & Safe Azores" seal from today. Its awarding is based on the Handbook on COVID-19 Good Practices, made available by thematic modules, after incorporating the contributions from the various entities representing the sector.
The preparation of this handbook, in partnership with the Regional Secretariat for Health, aims to ensure that public health concerns are safeguarded for visitors and professionals in the sector, while reinforcing the confidence in the Azores as a tourist destination.
The Regional Directorate for Tourism is responsible for the adaptation and implementation of this seal in the Azores and its awarding is subject to free online training provided to members companies and entities.
Those interested in joining the "Clean & Safe Azores" seal should submit the form available at https://clean-safe.azores.gov.pt/adesao.aspx, who will then receive an email containing detailed information on dates, required specific training and instructions for registration in the training course.
Each entity must designate a representative to take part in the training, who will be responsible for transmitting to the remaining employees the contents inherent to the manual of their area of work.
The training will take place by thematic areas, according to the existing modules in the Handbook on COVID-19 Good Practices. It will be conducted on an online platform with an estimated duration between 1.50 and 2 hours, being limited to a maximum of 250 participants per course.
This initiative is intended to raise the awareness of companies operating in the tourism sector for the basic measures towards prevention and control of COVID-19 infection as well as to provide information to participants, helping them to adopt procedures adapted to the reality and context of their organisations.
After the training, each participant will receive a kit and a seal, whose maintenance will require a strong commitment on the part of all companies with regard to the implementation and monitoring of the rules set out in the document.
