The Azores will be present at the 30th edition of BTL - Lisbon Travel Market from February 28 to March 4, with a stand intended to promote the Region as a Tourist Destination under the motto "Azores, a Sea of emotions."
In this edition, the primary goal is to consolidate the positioning of the Azores Destination as Active Nature Tourism, which provides tourists visiting the Region with unique experiences in the authentic landscapes of the entire archipelago.
The Azores stand, located in pavilion 1, covers an area of 874 m2 and features a combination of references present in the Azorean landscape that symbolise the archipelago's identity.
In addition to the use of endogenous materials from the archipelago, such as the case of cryptomeria wood, the stand also includes natural elements such as vertical gardens, given that they symbolise the essence of the archipelago's flora diversity.
Inside the stand, visitors will be surrounded by carpets depicting images of the Azores sea and projection screens that will exhibit promotional tourism films.
The event will also involve the participation of 30 entrepreneurs linked to the tourism sector in the business component as well as of tour operators and airlines; the latter will have a specific desk for the sale of their products.
In terms of activities, the Azores Tourism and Hotel School will carry out the present and dissemination of some regional gastronomic products. Moreover, there will also be simulated recreational moment that aims to offer a nature experience through canyoning. This is a growing activity in the Region that enhances its potential in terms of active tourism.
BTL - Lisbon Travel Market is acknowledged as the most important fair in terms of tourism promotion in the country and the second most important in the Iberian Peninsula.
