According to Marta Guerreiro, the competition "fits perfectly the actions of the Strategic and Marketing Plan of the Azores regarding the investment in this event internationally-renowned event in the segment of nautical activities, thus projecting the Azores in a much wider promotion context."
The Secretary for Tourism assured that this is a "safe investment" and, for that reason, the Regional Government maintains "all the availability to continue with the organisation of this event in the Azores in 2019."
"In its seventh edition, the competition is based on the concepts of the World Series and the Azores - Certified by Nature themselves, which is important to continue working together", said the government official.
"With 28 athletes from 17 countries, once again we have managed to highlight the Region's scenic beauty, promoting sports through a true experience of close contact with nature.
