The Regional Government, through the Regional Secretariat for Energy, Environment and Tourism, has opened a public tender for the tourism promotion of the Azores destination in the Spanish market.
The public tender was published today in the Official Journal with a base price of 1,275,000 Euros and an estimated implementation period of 15 months.
The Spanish market is identified in the Strategic and Marketing Plan for Azores Tourism as a market with growth trend, high consumption and considerable population size, which will contribute to the success of marketing efforts; therefore, it is important to promote the Azores destination in this market.
This market has economic and demographic characteristics that make it one of the tourism markets with great potential for the Azores due to its geographical and historical proximity.
This is another measure towards the reinforcement of the tourism promotion of the Azores destination through dissemination initiatives, namely online marketing campaigns and advertising (social networks, search engines and newsletters) and offline campaigns (magazines, newspapers, radio and educational activities - press trips and fam trips). These initiative are directed to the main tourism market, with special emphasis on Spain, seeing that it is a determining market for the Region.
