The Regional Directorate of Culture (DRaC), which is under the jurisdiction of the Presidency of the Regional Government of the Azores, has the mission of developing the cultural policy in the Autonomous Region of the Azores.
The Programme for Culture bases its guidelines on two areas, which are both crucial to the cultural prominence, renewal and dynamism of the Region: the promotion and revitalisation of the creative and cultural activity of the Azorean people and the preservation and valorisation of the material and immaterial heritage.
