The Angra do Heroísmo Museum promotes Saturday, September 17, a workshop titled "Gardens of Cloth" in collaboration with the Regional Centre for Handicrafts.
This workshop is held under the promotion programme of the "Fictitious Place/Promised Land" exhibition that will be open to the public at Dacosta Room until October 16. It is part of a guided tour to this exhibition, proposing the creation of idyllic settings in "crazy work."
"Crazy work" is a technique traditionally used in domestic textile creations. It consists in the reuse of scraps of fabric that are randomly arranged over a larger surface and fixed by colourful stitches, creating patterns that resemble meadows or gardens.
The initiative, divided into two sessions, takes places on September and October 15 between 2 PM and 5 M; it features the participation of artisan Maria do Carmo Lima.
Participation in this workshop is free, but is limited to 12 young or adult participants. Registrations should be made by telephone 295 240 800 or at the email address [email protected].
