The Regional Directorate for Culture, through the Angra do Heroísmo Museum, promotes the third session of the art training programme "FalARTE de ..." to be held under the theme "Art and Perception" next Saturday, April 11, at 3 PM.
In this session, Maria Assunção Melo, holder of a degree in Art History and a Postgraduate degree in Contemporary Art History, will address the elements that characterise several architectural styles. The lecture will be followed by a visit to the Church of Nossa Senhora da Guia.
The "FalARTE of ..." project falls within the goal of Angra do Heroísmo Museum towards the training of its audiences in terms of artistic perception and aesthetic appreciation. This initiative is included in the programmes to promote contemporary art exhibitions, "Em Concreto," featuring paintings by Rui Melo, and "Mistérios de Tinta," featuring paintings by Carolina Rocha.
The first session took place on January 31, under the title "FalARTE de Dacosta." It addressed the coherence of the expository speech of this Terceira-born artist and the identification of some iconographic elements that are frequently depicted in his works.
The second session, held on March 7, conducted an analysis on portraits and female figurations focusing on the allegorical roles traditionally assigned to women and the change of beauty patterns.
Under this programme, there is be a scheduled session in May that will address the role of avant-garde movements and criticism as well as the development of the concepts of ethics and abjection, installation and performance.
