Angra do Heroísmo Museum promotes literary evening "Read Poems and Unwritten Stories"
The Regional Directorate for Culture, through the Angra do Heroísmo Museum, will hold a literary evening entitled "Read Poems and Unwritten Stories" next Saturday, September 7, at 9.30 PM, which will be attended by Vasco Pereira da Costa.
The initiative falls within the programme aimed at the promotion of the "Sea | Matter | Material" exhibition that features works by this Terceira-born intellectual, poet and artist.
This exhibition, open to the public until September 15, features multiple formulations with materials that are the result of the experimentation of techniques learned by Vasco Pereira da Costa in a tour to museums and contemporary art centres in different parts of the world. Nonetheless, his ties to the island and the sea are clearly visible in the works on display as well as on his poetic works.
The literary evening will also include the launch of the book entitled "O Rapto" (The kidnapping) by Dimas Simas Lopes, which will be presented by Vasco Pereira da Costa.
Dimas Simas Lopes, a cardiologist and plastic artist from Terceira Island, has published the works entitled "Sonata para um Viajante" (Sonata for a Traveller) and "Porto do Mistério do Norte" (Mistério do Norte Port).
The Regional Directorate for Culture informs that this and other events may be consulted in the Cultural Agenda of the CulturAçores Portal at www.culturacores.azores.gov.pt.
