The Regional Directorate for Culture, through the Angra do Heroísmo Museum, promotes a workshop on stage fencing under the title "Touché," featuring the participation of Peter Cann, director, actor and stage fight choreographer.
This workshop will be held Saturday, November 5, between 2 PM and 5:30 PM and will address the basic principles of stage fight. Participants will learn a series of simple cuts as well as some forms of defence that will allow them to create and run a short fight scene with sabres.
The initiative falls within the programme for the dissemination of military collection of Angra do Heroísmo Museum, being one of the richest and most varied collections belonging to this institution. It includes a visit to the 2nd moment of the "Sea and Earth ... a story in the Atlantic" exhibition and a fencing demonstration with an English Back Sword, a weapon used in Europe between the 5th and 12th centuries.

Participation is limited to 16 people, including adults and young people from the age of 12, preferably belonging to theatre or "bailinhos"(carnival dances) groups.
