The Regional Directorate for Culture, through the Luís da Silva Ribeiro Public Library in Angra do Heroísmo and João José da Graça Public Library in Horta joins the celebrations of the World Poetry Day on Wednesday, March 21.
The Luís da Silva Ribeiro Public Library and Regional Archive promotes the initiative entitled "Suspended Poetry" at the webcafé at 9 PM. It is a performance-based activity using a rappel device in order to establish a dialogue with the building.
The activity includes the reading of poetry by Sara Leal and "A Sala" theatre group with classical guitar accompaniment by Sérgio Fernandes.
Camões, Eugénio de Andrade, Nuno Júdice, Daniel Jonas and Mário Cabral, among others, are some of the featured poets.
In turn, the João José da Graça Public Library and Regional Archive promotes a poetry recital with students and teachers from Manuel de Arriaga Secondary School, Horta Basic Education School. The activity is organised in collaboration with these school and the Community of Readers - "Chá com Livros."
The "Poets of the World" book exhibition will be also presented on March 21 at 6:30 PM.
