Applications for Artistic Creation Prizes open until November 30

The deadlines for the submission of the works competing in the Artistic Creation Prizes “Christiano Júnior,” “Ayres d’Aguiar” and “Canto da Maia" run until Monday, November 30.

The “Christiano Júnior” photography prize intends to reward every two years, in odd years, regional photographers and enhance regional cultural activity in the field of photography, especially in the categories of Free-themed General Photography, Natural Landscape Photography and Photographic Portray of People.

In the prize's first edition, the members of the jury are Luís Manuel Machado Menezes, a member of the Regional Council of Culture, Antonio Carlos da Silva Araújo and José Manuel Rodrigues, both guest photographers.

The "Ayres d'Aguiar" Cinema and Audiovisual Prize aims to distinguish every two years, in odd years, regional film-makers and revitalise regional cultural activity in the area of cinema and audiovisual, especially in the fiction, documentary and animation categories.
 
The jury who will assess the works in competition consists of Manuel Bernardo Cabral, as member of the Regional Council of Culture, director António Pedro Vasconcelos and film critic Anabela Branco Oliveira.

In turn, the "Canto da Maia" Sculpture Prize aims to recognise every two years, in odd years, regional artists and enhance the cultural activity in fine arts, including Sculpture, Public Art in Institutional Spaces and Statuary.

The jury consists of Duarte Melo, member of the Regional Council of Culture, Álvaro Raposo França, plastic artist, and Paulo Henriques, art critic.
