Arquipélago - Contemporary Arts Centre establishes partnerships with RTP and DOCLISBOA
The Regional Directorate for Culture, through Arquipélago - Contemporary Arts Centre, has established two new artistic partnerships with RTP and DOCLISBOA - International Film Festival.
Arquipélago - Contemporary Arts Centre, under its mission and public service, and RTP, as operator of public radio and television service in Portugal, signed a protocol for artistic and cultural partnership in the creation of interventions/artistic pieces to disseminate Portuguese Contemporary Art.
This partnership begins with artist Júlia Garcia, who is developing, in Artistic Residency, a creation for a graphic intervention in RTP Açores Building. The artistic residency designated as "The Imaginary Graphics of a File" proposes a journey to the imaginary of RTP through a graphic evolution using archival images, which will allow an imaginary reading of the building.
For its part, DOCLISBOA has created the Arquipélago - Contemporary Arts Centre Prize for this year's edition of ARCHÉ laboratory. This laboratory, which takes place under DOCLISBOA, aims to create spaces of thought and creative development for film professionals and independent structures, being a driving force in the development of projects.
The winner of Arquipélago Prize will develop a two-week artistic residency at this Arts Centre in order to create a developing project to be filmed in the future.
This partnership also includes an extension of DOCLISBOA at Arquipélago - Contemporary Arts Centre. The event will include the screening of some films listed in the 2017 programme, debates and a Children's Film Workshop to be guided by director Gonçalo Torcha.
The Regional Directorate for Culture informs that this and other events may be consulted in the Cultural Agenda of the CulturAçores Portal at the following address: www.culturacores.azores.gov.pt.
