Arquipélago - Contemporary Arts Centre hosts presentation of book "Terra Nostra, Terra Sonhada"
Arquipélago - Contemporary Arts Centre will host the presentation of the book "Terra Nostra, Terra Sonhada" (Our Land, Dreamed Land) by Madalena San-Bento on November 1 at 5 PM. Sidónio Bettencourt and Elias Pereira will carry out the presentation.
This work is a historical novel that depicts the deep love for the Azores and the way some places have become embedded in the lives of some families. It follows their saga over several generations.
Madalena San-Bento holds a degree in History. She teaches Portuguese and History in middle school and is a member of Board of Ponta Delgada Cultural Institute.
The author, among other awards, was the recipient of "Vitorino Nemésio" award in 1994 with the novel "Os Expostos" (The Exposed) and was distinguished by the Regional Secretariat for Education and Culture in 2005 with the novel "Diário das Mulheres Toleradas" (Diary of Tolerated Women).
