Arquipélago - Contemporary Arts Centre opens 2nd "Sonic Geometry" Exhibition Cycle
The Regional Directorate for Culture, through the Arquipélago - Contemporary Arts Centre opens Saturday, October 27, the 2nd "Sonic Geometry" Exhibition Cycle at 6:30 PM. The project is developed in partnership with RTP - Radio and Television of Portugal and curated by Nuno Faria and Nicolau Tudela.
This cycle presents the artistic projects by the duos Miguel Leal/Pedro Tudela and Mike Cooter/Tomás Cunha Ferreira, developed in Artistic Residency, as well as a new selection of videos from the Audiovisual Archive of RTP depicting the Azorean reality.
The "Sonic Geometry" project started in May, when Francisco Janes, Laetitia Morais, Sara Bichão and Manon Harrois were in Artistic Residency at the Contemporary Arts Centre. These were the artists featured in the 1st Exhibition Cycle.
The 2nd Cycle includes the works by Mike Cooter, Miguel Leal, Pedro Tudela and Tomás Cunha Ferreira. It is expected that Francisco Queimadela, Mariana Caló, Pedro Tropa and Ricardo Jacinto will join the 3rd Exhibition Cycle, who will also include Jonathan Saldanha, who will be in Artistic Residency at Arquipélago in December.
During these residences, which will last 15 days, artists from the "Sonic Geometry" develop projects involving research, experimentation and creation, which will lead to the production of new works using the vast Audiovisual Archive of RTP.
