The Regional Director for Culture, through the Carlos Machado Museum and in partnership with the Regional Centre for Handicrafts and CRESAÇOR, will launch the catalogue on "Traditions with a Horizon" at the Sacred Art Centre in Ponta Delgada on Tuesday, January 13, at 3 PM.
"Tradition with a Horizon" aims to raise the awareness of people for the role of Carlos Machado Museum as a place that preserves the identity heritage of a people through the collection, study, conservation and dissemination of the tools and technologies used in the past.
The project also intends to recognise and disseminate some traditional craft techniques used by today's artisans and, using them as starting point, explore new creative paths that reflect a new vision on handicrafts.
This session, open to the public in general, will be held at Colégio Church and will also feature the presentation of the actions planned for 2015.
The Regional Directorate for Culture informs that this and other events may be consulted in the Cultural Agenda of the CulturAçores Portal at the following address: www.culturacores.azores.gov.pt.
