Church of the Jesuit College in Angra do Heroísmo to close for rehabilitation works
The works for the rehabilitation of roofs and the conservation of wood carving decorative elements in the Church of the Jesuit College in Angra do Heroísmo will start soon. Hence, the church will be closed to worship and visitation from next Monday, August 29.
The work, whose contract was awarded for the price of 416 thousand Euros, has a completion period of 547 days; it consists of two different types of work.
In a first phase, which will last approximately four months, the intervention includes the strengthening of the roof of the main altar, while the second phase, with a duration of about 14 months, will cover the conservation works of the wood carving elements of the main altar and side chapels.
