The Regional Directorate for Culture, through the Angra do Heroísmo Museum, promotes another Conference at Boa Nova that will focus on Portuguese Military uniforms. It will take place at the Manuel Coelho Baptista de Lima Military History Centre next Wednesday, June 20, at 8 PM.
Pedro Soares Branco, a military researcher, will travel through Portuguese military uniforms from the 18th to the 20th century, based on original pieces and images belonging to the collections of the Angra do Heroísmo Museum and to other public and private collections.
This night programme also allows visits to the three exhibitions open to the public at that museum between 8 and 11 PM as well as to uniforms, heavy weapons and light weapons collections that are stored in the reserved areas. Admission is free and does not depend on prior registration.
The Manuel Coelho Baptista de Lima Military History Centre, installed at former Boa Nova Military Hospital, is home to the remarkable Military Collection of the Angra do Heroísmo Museum, recently distinguished with APOM 2016 Award for Best Visiting Collection.
