The Regional Directorate for Culture, through the Carlos Machado Museum, promotes a workshop on "Creative Weaving" at the Sacred Art Centre (Colégio Church) in Ponta Delgada on Saturday.

The activity is part of the initiative "Tradições com Horizonte" (Traditions with a Horizon), a project developed in a partnership between the Carlos Machado Museum, the Regional Centre for Handicrafts and Cresaçor. The workshop will focus on the contemporary perspective of designer Joana Dias, who will guide this activity, highlighting new shapes and materials from ancient weaving techniques.

The activity also counts on the collaboration of artisan Filomena Abrantes, teacher at the "Casa do Trabalho do Nordeste" (crafts school).

This workshop will take place from 2 to 5 PM and it is limited to a maximum of 12 participants aged over 14 years. Prior registration is required via the telephone number 296 20 29 30.
